Advice for an applicant

So you want to join the lab. Before sending the email here's some advice that will make me notice your application

 

(a) Tell me why you are interested in my lab. Why are you contacting me? Who else did you contact?

(b) What experience do you have?

(c) Most likely I cannot support you - how will you support your stay in my lab? How long will you stay? 

(d) Address the email by name.

(e) Send me your CV and a small write-up
